Can I schedule Commercial Driver Skills Test without completing the course?No. In order to schedule the Driver Skills Test you must complete a minimum of 150 hours, which is the length of the complete course provided including Theory and Behind the Wheel.

Is completing this course all I need to obtain the CDL Class A License?After completing the course you must pass the Commercial Driver Skills Test. Once the Skills Test is passed you can obtain your CDL from the Secretary of State.

How much is the Commercial Driver Skills Test?The cost varies depending on the tester, time, and date. It is from $150 to $200 per test. (Prices are not guaranteed and varies at the discretion of the tester)

Are your trucks Manual or Automatic?All the trucks used for training are Manual. Part of the course is learning to shift the truck.

Does JJFreight Training Center conducts the Commercial Driver Skills Test?No. We set up the appointments and provide the equipment for the testing for students who complete our course, however the actual test is conducted by a Third Party not affiliated with the school and has an additional cost not included in the cost of the course.

Where and how can I obtain the Class A Commercial Learner's Permit?The Class A Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) can be obtained from the Michigan Secretary of State. You must take 3 multiple choice written examinations which are: General Knowledge Combination Vehicle Air Brakes Once you pass all three test you'll receive the CLP. The estimated cost is $25.00. (Prices for CLP are placed and payable to Secretary of State and they are subject to change according to their discretion)

Where can I obtain the a DOT Medical Examiner Certificate for Commercial Drivers and how much does it cost?The a DOT Medical Examiner Certificate for Commercial Drivers (also known as DOT Physical) can be obtained from any clinic approved by the DOT. Examples include Work Health, Lansing Urgent Care. The cost of the Medical Examination varies from provider to provider and the price ranges from $90 to $150. The Medical Examination does not automatically include Drug Screening.

Where can I obtain the DOT Drug Screening and how much it costs?The DOT Drug Screening is obtained through a DOT approved drug testing center. We refer individuals to Lansing Urgent Care. In order to take the Drug Screening you must present a document from the School to the Medical Center. In order to obtain that document from us you must be enrolled in a course. The cost varies depending on the location and can cost from $55 to $95. The student is responsible for the full cost of the test and the results must be sent directly to the school by the Medical Center.

Can I register for only the Behind the Wheel Course?You cannot register to the Behind the Wheel Course without having a Certificate of Completion of the Theory Course.
